Frequently Asked Questions


  1. How do I schedule a rental unit for a future move? All storage units are rented out on a first come first serve basis.

  2. Are yearly leases required? No, they are leased on a month-to-month basis.

  3. What does month to month mean?  The lease automatically renews unless you give notice that you are moving out.  *Notice needs to be given by the 15th of the month to avoid being charged for the following month.

  4. Do I have to rent a unit via BluffCountryStorage.com?  No, you may call 608-387-8880 and speak directly to one of our representatives.

  5. Can I live in my unit?  No

  6. How do I cancel my unit?  Log into your account, choose manage leases and choose schedule move out.  * Note if you end your lease between the 1st and the 15th of the month your lease will be ended at the end of the current month.  If you end your lease between the 16th and last day of the month, your lease will terminate on the last day of the following month.

  7. Will I be given a refund if I vacate prior to the end of my lease term? No

  8. What is the procedure for vacating a unit? After providing notification that you are ending your lease and your items have been removed, please sweep your unit clean, close the door and take the lock with you.  Unit door must be left unlocked.  Please call 608-387-8880 and let the representative know which unit you had leased and that you are out.

  9. Are units climate controlled? No

  10. Will my unit have a power outlet? No

  11.  Does Bluff Country Storage accept any other forms of payments other than online credit/debit cards? No

  12.  What happens if my unit gets broken into, can I get the camera footage?  First, please contact Trempealeau County Sherriff & file a police report.  You need to submit a security incident form by calling 608-387-8880.

  13.  Will Bluff Country Storage insure my stored belonging? No, storage is at your own risk.  We recommend you get additional insurance to accommodate your stored items by either purchasing coverage through our company or your insurance agent.

  14.  How do I notify Bluff Country Storage if I notice a repair is needed to my unit or the facility?  Please submit repair request by calling 608-387-8880.

  15.  What lock should I use?  Be sure to use a high-quality lock to secure your unit.  For example, use a disc lock in which the bolt is covered.  Regular padlocks can be cut with a bolt cutter.  Bluff Country Storage provides a free disc lock with the leasing of each unit.  The facility doesn’t guarantee lock provided can’t be cut and the unit broken into.

  16. When is rent due?  Rent is due on the first of the month and is late if not received by the 5th.  A $15 late fee is then applied.

  17. Recommendation: Place a tarp or pallets down prior to fulling unit as condensation can form on the unit floor during spring temperature changes. Don't store any hazardous materials nor any liquids that may freeze during the winter. Cover furniture & mattresses with tarps or plastic to avoid dust build up. Store more valuable items to the rear of the unit and less valuable items towards the front.
